| In Loving Memory of Mr. Lau: Mr. Lau was a loving husband and father from Guam. He was in a car accident in 1989, which left him paralyzed from the neck down. Mr. Lau had the finest acute therapy in Hawaii. He and his family moved to California to obtain advanced physical therapy. Unfortunately, RVL S.C.O.R.E. was not in existence yet to offer him assistance. Once Mr. Lau arrived in California there was no availability in a well known rehab hospital, so he went to a convalescent hospital. Five months later Mr. Lau’s last words to CyCy Lambert was, "Don’t let this happen to anymore of our people!" Mr. Lau passed away the next evening knowing that his words helped to inspire CyCy Lambert to found RVL S.C.O.R.E. |

Maxine Stewart:
Seven months after her auto accident, Maxine
knew she needed special care and continued therapy to survive, so she contacted
RVL S.C.O.R.E. Today, one year later, thanks to the love and support of
RVL S.C.O.R.E., countless volunteers and friends, Maxine is living a productive
and more independent life, in a accessible mobile home. She is healthy,
has her own attendants, and goes to therapy. While preparing to return
to work she also volunteers with RVL S.C.O.R.E. in training attendants
and peer counseling others through her experiences. "RVL S.C.O.R.E. saved my life! I would of never gotten out of the nursing home without RVL S.C.O.R.E." Maxine Stewart |
| Stan Chin: Super Stan has been a RVL S.C.O.R.E. supporters since March of 1991. In December of 1994, Stan had a major stroke and became paralyzed. Today, thanks to God, continued therapy, and RVL S.C.O.R.E., Stan returned his wheelchair to us and he is walking while owning and operating Chin's Chinese Kitchen and living a productive life in an apartment he calls home! His main goal is to walk again, anyway possible. He wants his braces so that he can participate in the 1995 LA Marathon with RVL S.C.O.R.E. Rafael say’s, "I will feel proud being able to stand up and look people directly in the eyes. Being able to stand up and walk will give me the freedom and the ability to reach up and get my own cup to get a simple glass of water." Joyce Arizumi: Joyce,
one of Hawaii’s Pacific Asian island girls, once owned a successful design
manufacturing Co. in Hawaii. She was thrown from a car and paralyzed from
the waist down. Her business closed, but that didn’t stop her from pursuing
a new dream, to walk again. With the help from her family, she began her
quest, where she came across RVL S.C.O.R.E. Joyce came to California for
advanced physical therapy, because there isn’t any advanced therapy available
in the islands. Joyce say’s "I can’t give up, and not continue to
pursue this, they could do this to all others after me! What is wrong with
wanting to be more like the whole people we were before our accidents?"
Joyce feels that the information she has received from RVL S.C.O.R.E. is
invaluable and she can pass it on to others to have a dominos effect. Today,
Joyce is walking again with braces and a walker, painting beautiful art
work and inspiring others throughout Hawaii.![]() Joyce assisting RVL S.C.O.R.E. at a fun-raiser! |

Cheryl Chapman Cheryl
is a lovely young lady who is pursing her career as a cosmetologist in
Montana. Her career was put on hold after a near fatal automobile accident
in the spring of 1993, left her paralyzed from her chest to her toes. Walking,
standing, and returning to work as a cosmetologist were mere dreams to
her as she realized she was paralyzed. Cheryl began chasing her dreams
by coming to California and participating in advanced physical therapy
at the PEERS Program. RVL S.C.O.R.E. assisted Cheryl in many different
ways, but the main way was through vocational training at a local beauty
salon. Today, thanks to GOD, RVL S.C.O.R.E., and the PEERS Program, Cheryl
